Half Day Sits: A Deeper Soak in Reality
Starting March 4th Mid City Zen will have half-day sittings from 8-Noon on the first Sunday of every month. There is no registration required and no fees. Beginners are welcome as the first sit will be a guided period of zazen instruction. We will alternate between 30 minutes of sitting (zazen) and 5 minutes of walking (kinhin) with the usual Sunday ceremony at 10:35am. We will maintain silence and there will not be the usual coffeetalk time. You may participate in as much or as little of it as you wish.

Happy Mardi Gras!
I can feel the spirit of Mardi Gras... It is definitely here! Today on my way home from uptown, I had to wait for the Endymion floats to roll out of the warehouse and onto Jeff Davis. I had a rush of excitement...
